Leaving well alone

Well I have finally stuck to it and done what my boyfriend suggested - just putting nothing at all on my skin. And steadily it is getting better. The redness has gone down a lot and you can't even see it on my face any more, although it still feels rough, particularly on my left hand.
The main problem with not putting any kind of moisturiser at all on such dry skin is the flakiness. Whenever I touch the worst parts of my face, tiny bits of skin come away on my fingers and I'm always brushing my clothes down - it's like I have dandruff! It’s not quite as gross as it sounds, but it's not great. Anyway it's getting less and less as the days go by. Basically if you're not going to try and resurrect very dry skin cells my moisturising them, they're going to have to go. But hopefully once they have gone, the skin underneath will be nice. I'm just praying I don't have another flare up. As I don't know the cause of my eczema flare up it's pretty hard to predict!
Once my skin is under control and all the patches of eczema have gone I am going to go back to using some kind daily moisturiser for maintenance purposes. I certainly won't be using aqueous cream or Dermol cream though. I'm pretty sure than natural oils like almond oil or coconut oil are the way to go.
